A man in his 40s has tragically been identified as the latest victim in the country’s road fatalities. Hailing from Rakiraki, it is believed that he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to veer off the Kings Road near Karavi in Ba and land in a ditch. The incident took place after 10 PM last night, and unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
As of now, the national road death toll has reached 46, a significant decrease from the 68 fatalities reported during the same period last year. This statistic highlights a positive trend in road safety, suggesting increased awareness and potential preventive measures in place.
While this incident is undoubtedly heartbreaking, the overall decline in road fatalities offers a glimmer of hope for improved safety on the roads. Continued efforts in traffic education and safety regulations can further reduce such tragic events in the future.
