The Fiji Police Force has reported that relatives of a man who was allegedly involved in a fatal accident in Navua last week have assisted investigators in identifying the victim. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, the victim has been confirmed as a 27-year-old resident of Lautoka.
The process of identification was facilitated by the victim’s uncle, who stepped forward after noticing a public appeal for information shared by the police. SSP Divuana expressed gratitude to the community for their support in amplifying the request for information, leading to the successful identification of the individual involved. As a result, the public appeal has now been canceled.
This tragic incident highlights the importance of community cooperation in assisting authorities during difficult situations. The quick response from the victim’s family and the public can be seen as a testament to the strong bonds within the community, working together for a common cause in times of need.
