Lautoka Stars will be missing their talented player Vani Ratudradra for the upcoming FinanceHub Super League final against Suva Swifts IGA this Saturday. The 19-year-old, who was a participant in the National Netball Academy program, was laid to rest last week after tragically losing his life in a road accident in Lautoka on September 29.
Suva Swifts IGA finished the regular season in first place with 21 points, boasting a goal difference of 194%, while Lautoka Stars secured second place with 15 points and a goal difference of 126%. The Baby Pearls team, Kacau, ended the season in third place, while Nasinu Tactix ranked fourth. These teams will compete for third place in the finals.
In addition, Nadroga Stallions will meet Baby Pearls Kikau in the fifth-place playoff, and Nadi will take on Tailevu Doves for the seventh-place playoff.
Vivian Koster, the chief executive officer of Netball Fiji, expressed gratitude for the season, stating, “It has been a long but good league where we have discovered new talent and witnessed the ongoing development of our athletes. Netball Fiji is always thankful for the partnership with FinanceHub, which has enabled our athletes to compete and demonstrate their skills for national team selection.”
The final will take place at the Fiji National University (FNU) Gymnasium in Nasinu.
