A tragic incident occurred just days before the graduation of a 13-year-old boy named Mosese Vulavula from Nausori Primary School, who lost his life in a road accident. The accident involved a vehicle driven by his father, which was hit by an out-of-control truck operated by a 21-year-old on Princes Rd in Tacirua on Monday afternoon. His mother was also present in the vehicle at the time.

Iliesa Vulavula recounted that they were returning home after picking up another son, and during a heavy downpour, the accident tragically transpired. Mosese’s mother, Suliana, described her son as quiet and reserved, a trait distinct from his five siblings. The family was eagerly preparing for his graduation scheduled for Thursday, including fabric for his graduation attire, adding to their sorrow.

Suliana expressed her profound grief, stating, “It pains me to think of the life of my son… because of the future we had planned for him as his parents.” However, she also found solace in her faith, acknowledging that he has moved on to a better place.

Iliesa Vulavula emphasized the importance of road safety in light of this tragedy, urging drivers to be cautious. He poignantly remarked, “There is only one life,” and addressed the driver involved, reminding him that nothing can undo the loss of Mosese.

This heart-wrenching story highlights the importance of road safety and serves as a reminder of the fragility of life. While this family faces an unimaginable loss, their gratitude for the time they had with Mosese serves as a touching testament to love and remembrance.

The community, too, is encouraged to reflect on this incident, leading to greater awareness and preventive measures on the roads. In every tragedy, there lies a message about cherishing life and the loved ones around us.
