A tragic accident occurred in Naduna, Labasa on Monday night, resulting in the death of a 16-year-old boy named Shalvin Lal from Tuatua, Labasa. According to reports, Shalvin left his home around 12:30 PM to pick up a relative. Eyewitness accounts suggest that he was driving at high speed when he lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, and struck a culvert.
Shalvin was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene and was later discovered by the relative he had gone to meet. Acting Divisional Police Commander for the North, Superintendent Eroni Soqosoqo, has confirmed that an investigation is underway. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for today to determine the cause of death.
