A woman in her 50s has tragically died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on the Queens Highway. Authorities reported that she was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her husband, who allegedly lost control of the car, causing it to veer off the road and collide with a lamp post. The victim was quickly transported to CWM Hospital, where medical staff confirmed her passing.
The driver, her husband, is currently in critical condition at the hospital. This incident adds to the national road death toll, which now stands at 20, slightly higher than the 19 fatalities recorded at the same time last year.
This unfortunate event highlights the growing concern over road safety in the region. Similar accidents have been reported, including a recent incident involving a 70-year-old woman who lost her life on the Viseisei bypass road due to a driver losing control of their vehicle. In that case, speeding was suspected as a contributing factor, prompting police officials to urge motorists to adhere to speed limits for the safety of all.
As road fatalities continue to pose a serious issue, it’s crucial for drivers to remain vigilant and prioritize safety over speed to help reduce the number of accidents and save lives on the roads.
