A man in his 40s lost his life while attempting to assist a homeowner whose house was ablaze in Nadroumai Village, Nadroga, yesterday afternoon. The individual reportedly collapsed while trying to remove belongings from a room. Emergency services transported him to Sigatoka Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Investigations are ongoing, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death. In light of several recent fire incidents, the Fiji Police Force is advising property owners to take essential precautions by inspecting for fire hazards both indoors and outdoors.
