A tragic event has unfolded as a 13-year-old boy named Mosese Vulavula lost his life just days before he was set to graduate from Nausori Primary School. The accident occurred on Monday afternoon when a truck, driven by a 21-year-old, reportedly collided with the vehicle Mosese was in, which was driven by his father on Princes Rd in Tacirua. Mosese’s mother was also a passenger in the car.

Iliesa Vulavula, Mosese’s father, shared that they were on their way home after picking up another son when the accident took place. He recounted a phone call from his wife, who mentioned the heavy rain, just moments before the unfortunate incident occurred.

Mosese was remembered by his mother, Suliana, as a quiet and reserved boy, distinct from his other five siblings. She expressed her heartache, saying, “It pains me to think of the life of my son… We were preparing for his graduation this Thursday,” highlighting the fabric and attire they had prepared for the occasion.

In a moment of profound grief, Suliana acknowledged her loss but also expressed gratitude to God, believing that Mosese has found peace in a better place. Mr. Vulavula emphasized the importance of road safety, urging other drivers to be vigilant and prevent such tragedies. He poignantly stated, “Please, there is only one life,” reflecting the deep sorrow of losing their son.

This heart-wrenching story serves as a reminder of the fragility of life, and the urgent need for road safety awareness among all drivers to prevent future incidents like this. Despite the sorrow, the family’s memories and love for Mosese will endure, highlighting their strength and hope in facing such a devastating loss.

In summary, Mosese Vulavula’s untimely death has cast a shadow of grief over his family and community as they mourn a bright young life cut short. The call for greater road safety resonates as a hopeful plea for change.
