Kaiava Francis, a 21-year-old from Fiji, tragically drowned at the Detners dam in Kansas, USA, last Saturday, leaving his family in disbelief. According to reports from Kake Television in Wichita, Kansas, Francis allegedly jumped into the water while swimming with friends and was subsequently swept away by the current of the Neosho River. Authorities recovered his body the same day for identification purposes. A close family member expressed their shock upon hearing the news, stating they were unsure how to react. Francis, the second eldest of four siblings, hailed from Wailevu in Labasa and had maternal ties to Waibasaga in Wainimala, Naitasiri.
