The body of a five-year-old boy who drowned in Waidra, Baulevu, near the Rewa River, was recovered yesterday morning. Divisional Police Commander for the Eastern Division, Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, reported that the boy was swimming when the incident occurred. This tragic event has raised new concerns among police regarding the supervision of young children. The Fiji Police Force has urged all parents to monitor their children closely, especially with the cyclone season approaching and school holidays on the horizon.
