The body of a five-year-old boy, who drowned in the Waidra area of Baulevu along the Rewa River on Thursday, was recovered yesterday morning. Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, the Divisional Police Commander for the Eastern Division, reported that the boy was swimming when the tragic incident occurred.
This drowning incident has reignited concerns among police regarding the supervision of young children. The Fiji Police Force has urged all parents to keep a close watch on their children at all times. They emphasized that the cyclone season is imminent, with the school holidays approaching as well.
