The body of a 5-year-old boy who drowned in Waidra, Baulevu, near the Rewa River has been recovered this morning. Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, the Divisional Police Commander for the Eastern Division, reported that the boy was swimming at the time of the incident.
The Fiji Police Force is urging parents to provide close supervision to their children as the cyclone season and school holidays approach. They also expressed their appreciation to the Goneturaga na Vunivalu of Kasavu and local communities for their assistance in the search efforts.
