Tragic Drowning: 5-Year-Old’s Body Recovered in Fiji

The body of a 5-year-old boy who drowned in Waidra, Baulevu, along the Rewa River was recovered this morning. Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, the Divisional Police Commander Eastern, reported that the boy was swimming at the time of the incident. The Fiji Police Force is urging parents to closely supervise their children, particularly with the cyclone season and school holidays approaching. They also extended their gratitude to the Goneturaga na Vunivalu of Kasavu and the surrounding communities for their assistance in the search efforts.
