Authorities are currently investigating the tragic death of Lance Seeto, a renowned chef and director of Kanu Gastropub, who was found unresponsive with apparent head injuries in his Suva apartment yesterday. Seeto, 60, had not responded to calls since last Friday, prompting a staff member from Kanu Gastropub to visit his residence at 9:21 AM, where the discovery was made.

The police were on the scene throughout the day, gathering evidence while awaiting post-mortem results to establish the exact cause of death. This shocking incident has prompted an outpouring of condolences on social media, reflecting the deep impact Seeto had on many lives in Fiji.

Div Damodar from the Div Damodar Group of Companies expressed his sorrow, remembering Seeto as a kind and joyful person who inspired countless individuals in the culinary field. Damodar emphasized that Seeto’s legacy would live on, characterizing him as a brother to many.

The Fiji Chefs Facebook page called him a legendary chef, highlighting his commitment to advancing Fijian gastronomy and his role in nurturing the talents of emerging chefs in the region. Furthermore, the German Embassy in Suva extended its condolences, acknowledging Seeto’s contributions to their events, including one attended by German Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.
