A 21-year-old man has tragically died following a road accident that took place in Tavua on the afternoon of August 2.
The incident occurred while he was driving on Kings Road near Draunivi, where it is reported that he lost control of his vehicle while attempting to overtake another car.
Following the accident, he was transported to Tavua Hospital for treatment but unfortunately passed away this morning.
Four other passengers in his vehicle received medical attention for their injuries.
Currently, the road death toll stands at 31, a decrease from 57 deaths during the same period last year.
The Fiji Police Traffic Department is urging drivers to heed warnings about the risks associated with speeding.
