A man in his 30s tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident this morning in Nasinu. The incident took place after 3 am near the Nasinu road junction, as reported by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, the Director of Traffic.
The victim was traveling toward Suva when a vehicle, also driven by a man in his 30s but heading in the opposite direction, collided with his car. Emergency services rushed the victim to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities are actively investigating the accident to clarify the details surrounding the circumstances of the crash. Notably, the current road death toll stands at 46, which is a decrease compared to 68 fatalities reported during the same time last year, indicating potential improvements in road safety.
