A tragic motor vehicle accident in Nasinu this morning has resulted in the death of a man in his 30s. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, the incident took place after 3 a.m. near the Nasinu road junction.
The victim was driving towards Suva when his vehicle collided with another car that was driven by a man also in his 30s, who was traveling in the opposite direction. Emergency services quickly transported the victim to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, but he was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities are conducting an investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the crash. It’s worth noting that the current road death toll stands at 46, which reflects a decrease compared to 68 fatalities during the same period last year.
This incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety and vigilance while driving, and it underscores the ongoing efforts to reduce traffic-related fatalities in the community.
