A tragic incident in New Plymouth has resulted in the death of an individual who was trapped inside their vehicle following a collision with a residential property. Authorities reported that the crash occurred at approximately 9:15 AM on Riverside Drive in Merrilands.
Initially, Fire and Emergency Services had indicated that the singular occupant of the car had been rescued, and there were no further injuries reported. However, it later emerged that the driver, who became trapped beneath the house, unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. Additionally, someone inside the home was transported to Taranaki Base Hospital with moderate injuries.
