Two people have died following a motor vehicle accident along Wailoaloa Road in Nadi this morning, Sunday, August 4.
The two victims were passengers in a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old from Lovu in Latuoka.
It is alleged that the driver, while attempting to overtake another car, lost control, leading to the accident.
As a result, the two men died, while the remaining three occupants were rushed to Nadi Hospital with serious injuries.
Director of Traffic, Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, stated that initial investigations suggest speeding and alcohol might have been contributing factors.
Investigations are ongoing.
