A 21-year-old man tragically lost his life following an accident in Tavua on Friday afternoon, August 2.
The incident occurred while he was driving along the Kings Road near Draunivi, Tavua. Reports suggest that he lost control of his vehicle while attempting to overtake another car.
The man was immediately taken to the Tavua Hospital where he was admitted, but unfortunately, he passed away this morning.
Four other passengers in the vehicle received treatment for their injuries.
The road death toll now stands at 31, compared to 57 during the same period last year.
The Fiji Police Traffic Department is urging drivers to heed warnings about the dangers of speeding.
