A 20-year-old man from Matanagata, Tavua, tragically lost his life in a road accident on Kings Road in Naviyago, Lautoka, on Saturday morning. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, the victim was one of three passengers in a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old man. SSP Divuana reported that the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, which then crashed into the railing of the Naviyago bridge and fell into the river. The victim and another passenger were promptly taken to Lautoka Aspen Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival. The current road death toll stands at 41, a decrease from 63 during the same period last year.
