A tragic incident occurred in Naduna, Labasa, on Monday night, resulting in the death of a 16-year-old boy named Shalvin Lal from Tuatua, Labasa. Shalvin left his home around 12:30 PM to pick up a relative. According to reports, he was allegedly driving at a high speed when he lost control of the vehicle, veering off the road and colliding with a culvert. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene, with his body discovered by the relative he intended to meet.
Superintendent of Police Eroni Soqosoqo, acting as the Divisional Police Commander North, confirmed the occurrence and stated that an investigation has begun into the circumstances surrounding the accident. A post-mortem is scheduled to be conducted today.
