A tragic accident resulted in the death of a 1-year-old child yesterday.
Authorities reported that the child was with his mother outside their home in Davuilevu Housing when an old coconut tree fell on him.
The child was immediately taken to the Nakasi Health Center, where he was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
