A 19-year-old woman tragically lost her life in a road accident early this morning in Lautoka. She was one of four passengers in a vehicle operated by a 24-year-old driver when, reportedly, he lost control of the vehicle on Queens Road near Navutu. The car veered off the road and struck a post. The young woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and the other three passengers were rushed to Lautoka Aspen Hospital, where they are being treated for serious injuries. This incident brings the national road death toll to 42 for the year, a decrease from 63 during the same period last year.
