The body of a five-year-old boy who drowned in Waidra, Baulevu, near the Rewa River has been recovered this morning. Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, the Divisional Police Commander Eastern, indicated that the boy was swimming at the time of the tragedy.
In light of this incident, the Fiji Police Force is urging all parents to closely supervise their children, especially given the impending cyclone season and upcoming school holidays. They also expressed appreciation to the Goneturaga na Vunivalu of Kasavu and the local communities for their assistance in the search efforts.
