A tragic accident in Kulukulu, Sigatoka, early this morning resulted in the deaths of a man and a woman. The incident took place around 2 a.m. when it is believed the driver, who was reportedly heavily intoxicated, lost control of the vehicle while navigating a bend, leading to a collision with an electric post.
Both individuals died at the scene, while two others, a male and a female passenger, are currently hospitalized. Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, Director of Traffic and Transport Control, expressed sorrow over the incident, noting that this marks the second fatal accident in the area within just 24 hours.
SSP Divuana urged all drivers to exercise caution and prioritize the safety of themselves, their passengers, and pedestrians. He emphasized the commitment of police and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to maintain safety on the roads.
