Lautoka Stars will be without their promising player, Vani Ratudradra, as they prepare to face Suva Swifts IGA in the FinanceHub Super League final this Saturday. Ratudradra was laid to rest last Saturday after tragically passing away in a road accident in Lautoka on September 29. He was just 19 years old and had also been a member of the National Netball Academy program.
Suva Swifts IGA secured the top spot in the league with 21 points after the seventh round, boasting a goal difference of 194%. Lautoka Stars finished in second place with 15 points and a goal difference of 126%. The Baby Pearls team, Kacau, ended the season in third place, while Nasinu Tactix took fourth place. These two teams will compete for the third-place playoff.
Additionally, Nadroga Stallions will face Baby Pearls Kikau for the fifth-place playoff, and Nadi will take on Tailevu Doves in the seventh-place playoff.
Netball Fiji’s chief executive officer, Vivian Koster, expressed gratitude for the season, stating, “It has been a long but good league season where we have unearthed new talent and seen the continued growth of athletes. Netball Fiji is always appreciative of the partnership with FinanceHub that has allowed our athletes to compete and put their case forward for selection into our national teams.”
The final match will take place at the Fiji National University (FNU) Gymnasium in Nasinu.
