Lautoka Stars will miss their talented player Vani Ratudradra when they face Suva Swifts IGA in the FinanceHub Super League final this Saturday. Ratudradra, who was part of the National Netball Academy program, was laid to rest last Saturday after tragically passing away in a road accident in Lautoka on September 29.
Suva Swifts IGA topped the league standings with 21 points after the seventh round and a goal difference of 194%, while Lautoka Stars secured second place with 15 points and a goal difference of 126%. The Baby Pearls team, Kacau, finished third, followed by Nasinu Tactix in fourth place. These two teams will compete for the third-place playoff in the finals.
In the playoffs, Nadroga Stallions will take on Baby Pearls Kikau for a chance at fifth place, while Nadi will face Tailevu Doves for seventh place.
Vivian Koster, the chief executive officer of Netball Fiji, remarked, “It has been a long but good league season where we have unearthed new talent and seen the continued growth of athletes. Netball Fiji is always appreciative of the partnership with FinanceHub that has allowed our athletes to compete and put their case forward for selection into our national teams.”
The final match is set to take place at the Fiji National University (FNU) Gymnasium in Nasinu.
