Tragedy Strikes: Fijian Farmer Dies in Perth Road Accident

A 39-year-old farm worker from Fiji lost his life in a traffic accident in Perth, Western Australia on Sunday evening. Sikeli Nawaqa was driving a Hyundai Getz when he veered off Dandaragan Road and crashed into a tree shortly after 7 PM.

Nawaqa suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other men in the vehicle were seriously injured and were transported by helicopter to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

His family remembered him as a “kind and hard-working” individual. His employer, Agri Fresh, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, stating that it has sent “shockwaves through our entire organization.” They described him as a “kind, warm-hearted, gentle, passionate, and committed member of our team” who will be greatly missed.

One of the passengers, a 27-year-old man, is in critical condition and fighting for his life in the intensive care unit. Two other men, aged 30 and 38, sustained serious injuries but are currently in stable condition in the state trauma unit.

Authorities from the Major Crash investigation unit are looking into the incident and are urging any witnesses to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000. Nawaqa is survived by his wife and four children.
