Kaiava Francis, a 21-year-old from Fiji, has tragically drowned at the Detners dam in Kansas, USA, leaving his family in profound shock. Reports from Kake Television in Wichita state that Francis jumped from the dam while swimming with friends and was subsequently swept away by the current of the Neosho River.

Authorities recovered his body on the same day and took it for identification. A family member, who preferred to remain anonymous, expressed disbelief upon receiving the news, saying, “I was in shock.”

Francis was the second oldest among four siblings and hailed from Wailevu, Labasa, with maternal ties to Waibasaga, Wainimala, in Naitasiri.
