Tragedy Strikes: Drowning Incident Claims Young Life in Fiji

The body of a 5-year-old boy who drowned in Waidra, Baulevu, near the Rewa River has been recovered this morning.

Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, the Divisional Police Commander for the Eastern Division, confirmed that the boy was swimming at the time of the incident.

The Fiji Police Force is reminding parents to closely supervise their children, particularly with the cyclone season and school holidays approaching.

They also expressed their appreciation to the Goneturaga na Vunivalu of Kasavu and the surrounding communities for their assistance during the search.
