A tragic incident occurred as a 13-year-old boy, Mosese Vulavula, was just days away from his graduation from Nausori Primary School when he lost his life in a road accident. The accident happened on Monday afternoon along Princes Rd in Tacirua, when a truck allegedly driven by a 21-year-old collided with the vehicle Mosese was in, which was being driven by his father. His mother was also a passenger in the vehicle at the time.
Mosese’s father, Iliesa Vulavula, shared that they were returning home after picking up one of their other sons, and Mosese had called his father while they were on the road due to heavy rain. The loss of their son has been deeply felt by the family, with his mother, Suliana, describing Mosese as a quiet and reserved child among their six children. She expressed her immense pain at losing him just before the graduation they had eagerly planned for, having already prepared fabric for his graduation attire.
In the wake of this tragedy, Mr. Vulavula urged drivers to prioritize road safety to avert similar incidents. He emphasized the value of life and acknowledged the irreversible loss of his son, extending his thoughts to the driver involved in the accident.
As the community mourns this heartbreaking event, it serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the impact that such tragedies can have on families and loved ones. While the Vulavula family faces an unimaginable loss, the outpouring of support from the community highlights the strength of togetherness in moments of sorrow.
This sad event stands as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment with loved ones.
