A 39-year-old Fijian farm worker tragically lost his life in a traffic accident in Perth, Western Australia, on Sunday evening. Sikeli Nawaqa’s Hyundai Getz reportedly left the road and collided with a tree on Dandaragan Road shortly after 7 PM.
Nawaqa suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other men involved in the accident were seriously injured and were airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.
His family described Nawaqa as “kind and hard-working.” His employer, Agri Fresh, expressed that his untimely death has deeply affected the organization, stating he was a “kind, warm-hearted, gentle, passionate and committed member of our team, who will be dearly missed.”
One of the injured passengers, a 27-year-old man, is in critical condition and fighting for his life in the intensive care unit at Royal Perth Hospital. Meanwhile, two other men, aged 30 and 38, are being treated for serious injuries but are currently in stable condition at the state trauma unit.
Authorities from Major Crash are investigating the incident and are urging anyone who witnessed the accident to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000. Nawaqa is survived by his wife and four children.
