Tragedy Strikes: 5-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Waidra

The body of a 5-year-old boy who drowned in Waidra, Baulevu, near the Rewa River was recovered this morning. Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, the Divisional Police Commander for the Eastern region, reported that the child was swimming at the time of the incident.

The Fiji Police Force is reminding parents to closely supervise their children, particularly with the cyclone season and school holidays approaching. They also expressed appreciation to the Goneturaga na Vunivalu of Kasavu and local communities for their assistance during the search.
