Two individuals lost their lives yesterday morning in an accident on Wailoaloa Road in Nadi. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, Director of Traffic, indicated that preliminary information suggests speed and alcohol consumption may have contributed to the incident.
According to police reports, the deceased were passengers in a vehicle operated by a 30-year-old driver from Lovu, Lautoka. It is believed that the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle and subsequently lost control, leading to the crash.
The two men were pronounced dead at the scene, while three other passengers were taken to Nadi Hospital due to serious injuries. Authorities are actively investigating the accident.
