Tragedy on Queens Road: Woman Released on Bail After Fatal Crash

A 36-year-old woman accused of causing the death of an elderly woman in an accident on Queens Road on August 18, 2024, has been granted bail. She faces a charge of Dangerous Driving Occasioning Death and appeared in Lautoka Magistrates Court yesterday. The incident reportedly occurred when she lost control of her vehicle near the Viseisei Bypass road, causing it to veer off course and strike a post. The impact caused her vehicle to swing back onto the road, colliding with another car. Tragically, a 75-year-old woman traveling with her succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident. The case is scheduled to resume on October 15, 2024.
