A trial to reduce traffic congestion along the Suva to Nausori corridor is set to commence next week, focusing on 12 critical locations identified for their heavy traffic volumes. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will implement a series of new traffic management measures, which will include the introduction of slip lanes and restrictions on right turns to facilitate better flow on this busy route.
LTA CEO Irimaia Rokosawa emphasized the role of community cooperation in the trial’s success, urging all motorists to stay alert and adhere to the new regulations. He recommended that drivers familiarize themselves with the changes and plan their travels wisely, particularly during peak hours, as even slight adjustments in travel timing can mitigate congestion.
