Citizens in the Central and Western Divisions should prepare for potential traffic disruptions and delays as police will be performing traffic control and escort services during the upcoming State visit of the President of India, Her Excellency Droupadi Murmu. This visit is scheduled from Monday, August 5th, to Wednesday, August 7th, 2024.
Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu stated that there will not be any complete road closures during this period. He is urging drivers to assist the police by moving aside or providing space for the official motorcade when they hear accompanying police vehicles.
ACP Driu emphasized that operations are designed to minimize traffic disruptions and has asked for the public’s patience and cooperation throughout the three-day event.
