Residents in the Central and Western Divisions should prepare for traffic interruptions and delays as police will perform traffic and escort responsibilities during the state visit of India’s President, Her Excellency Droupadi Murmu. The visit is scheduled from Monday, August 5, to Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations, Livai Driu, assured that there will not be complete road closures during this time. He urged drivers to assist law enforcement by moving aside or clearing the way for the official motorcade when they hear accompanying police vehicles.

Driu emphasized that operations will focus on minimizing traffic disruptions and requested the public’s patience and cooperation throughout the three-day event.
