Ratu Vuniyani Navuniuci, Momo Levu Na Tui Nadi, has criticized Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) member Seremaia Tuiteci, who alleged that he and Tui Nawaka, Ratu Joeli Bulu, plan to join the party.
In a strongly worded letter to the media, Ratu Vuniyani firmly denied the “unfounded allegations” made by Tuiteci, President of the SODELPA Ba/West/Yasawa Constituency, which were reported in various news outlets.
He stated that neither he nor Ratu Joeli Bulu have ever indicated a desire to leave their current political affiliations or join SODELPA. “These claims are entirely false and misleading. Tuiteci’s statements are baseless fabrications that misrepresent my position and seek to manipulate public perception of my political affiliation for his gain,” he said.
Both Ratu Vuniyani and Tui Nawaka have requested a public apology from Tuiteci for spreading such untruths and attempting to create division within their communities.
Ratu Vuniyani emphasized his commitment to his people and reaffirmed his support for Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s leadership. He urged media outlets and the public to dismiss these false claims and to respect the truth. “I will continue to uphold my duty to my people to maintain unity and transparency,” he concluded.
