Indian President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the importance of preserving traditional values as they are integral to one’s identity. During a welcoming ceremony in Suva, she highlighted that as societies embrace modern lifestyles, it is crucial to maintain their traditions.

“I come from a culture rooted in tradition,” President Murmu stated, noting the impressive way the local community utilizes plants for various purposes, including food and beverages. She stressed that protecting these long-standing customs is essential for retaining our identities, as many of these traditions span centuries.
