Tower Insurance Unveils First Recipients of Vunilagi Scholarship

Tower Insurance has announced the recipients of its first-ever Vunilagi Scholarship, aimed at nurturing future leaders in Fiji’s insurance sector. The three selected applicants are Aqela Buloudruadrua, Shayal Gosai, and Saula Baleinubu, chosen through a thorough selection process.

During a special event at Tower’s new Suva hub, Jajeena Bhan, co-head of the Suva Hub, praised the exceptional quality of the applicants. “Our goal is to identify inspiring students who could help create a more equitable, resilient, and sustainable future for all Fijians,” said Ms. Bhan. “Aqela, Shayal, and Saula embody the potential we seek.”

The Vunilagi Scholarship, part of Tower’s 150th anniversary celebrations in Fiji, covers a full year of tuition fees for three final-year students at the University of the South Pacific (USP). It also includes paid internships that may lead to permanent positions at Tower Insurance.

This initiative aims not only to meet the educational needs of students but also to align with Tower’s strategic goal of developing local talent to enhance its workforce. Successful applicant Ms. Gosai expressed that receiving the scholarship has inspired her to give back to her community. Mr. Baleinubu noted that the scholarship would equip him with essential skills and networking opportunities for his future career. Ms. Buloudruadrua shared her gratitude, stating that the support would empower her to achieve her personal and professional aspirations.

With the launch of the Vunilagi Scholarship, Tower Insurance has positioned itself as an active contributor in the local market, investing in the next generation of leaders while reaffirming its commitment to corporate social responsibility in Fiji.
