Tower Insurance Champions Future Leaders with New Scholarship Program

Tower Insurance has announced the three recipients of its first Vunilagi Scholarship, which aims to nurture future leaders in Fiji’s insurance industry and beyond. The selected candidates are Aqela Buloudruadrua, Shayal Gosai, and Saula Baleinubu, who were chosen through a thorough selection process.

During an event at Tower’s new Suva hub, Jajeena Bhan, co-head of the hub, praised the quality of the applicants. “Our goal is to identify inspiring students who could contribute to building a more equitable, resilient, and sustainable future for all Fijians,” Ms. Bhan stated. “Aqela, Shayal, and Saula represent the potential we are looking for.”

The Vunilagi Scholarship was introduced as part of Tower’s 150th anniversary celebrations in Fiji and provides full tuition coverage for three final-year students at the University of the South Pacific (USP). Additionally, the scholarship includes paid internships that can lead to permanent roles at Tower Insurance.

This initiative not only addresses the educational needs of students but also aligns with Tower’s strategic aim of developing local talent to strengthen its workforce.

Shayal Gosai, one of the successful applicants, expressed that the scholarship has inspired her to give back to her community. Saula Baleinubu mentioned that the scholarship would equip him with vital skills and networking opportunities necessary for his career. Aqela Buloudruadrua conveyed her gratitude, noting that the support would enable her to reach her personal and professional aspirations.

Through the Vunilagi Scholarship, Tower Insurance has asserted its role as an active contributor to the local market, investing in future leaders while demonstrating a commitment to corporate social responsibility in Fiji.
