Tourism Fiji is set to enhance its marketing strategies and stakeholder engagement by appointing regional representatives across the nation. Chief Executive Dr. Paresh Pant emphasized the importance of having dedicated personnel at the regional level, as this initiative will facilitate the collection of crucial product insights and stakeholder feedback.

Dr. Pant noted that these representatives will serve as vital conduits for local voices, allowing their insights to inform the strategies crafted by the organization’s international team. This two-way communication is expected to improve the effectiveness of itineraries and partnerships, ensuring that the unique needs of different regions are considered in negotiations and special offers.

This local representation aims to bolster return on investment by optimizing visitor distribution and channeling more tourism revenue into local communities. Deputy Prime Minister and Tourism Minister Viliame Gavoka echoed this sentiment, highlighting government efforts to develop regions like Lau as part of a broader tourism expansion strategy. He pointed out that the focus would be on experiential and niche tourism rather than mass tourism, attracting travelers who value unique experiences even if it requires additional travel arrangements.

Regions such as Nadi, Denarau, Coral Coast, Mamanuca, Pacific Harbour, Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and the Lau Group each present distinct opportunities and challenges, necessitating a coordinated approach to maximize their tourism potential. As Tourism Fiji implements this strategy, it holds promising prospects for enriching the tourism landscape and benefiting local communities throughout the country.
