The i-Taukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) has announced a comprehensive set of initiatives for 2025, aimed at enhancing its operational effectiveness and supporting iTaukei landowners. TLTB Chairman and Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu, highlighted that these initiatives are designed to align with the organization’s vision of promoting sustainable growth and organizational performance in accordance with national development goals.

The 2025 budget, effective from January 1, reflects a strong commitment to responsible financial management and sustainable land development. With a total budget of $28.15 million—an increase of 7% from the previous year—TLTB plans to invest in crucial areas such as landowner empowerment, advanced IT infrastructure, and business development initiatives.

This strategic move by TLTB not only emphasizes its dedication to the welfare of iTaukei landowners but also underscores the importance of forward planning in attaining national economic objectives. The focus on training and resources can foster a more educated and empowered landowning community, leading to enhanced economic opportunities in the future.

In summary, the initiatives laid out by TLTB represent a positive stride toward sustainable land management, which could lead to improved livelihoods for many in the iTaukei community. Such planning prioritizes development that benefits both the landowners and the broader national goals, promoting a hopeful vision for the future.
