Title: Minister Tabuya Highlights Financial Roles Beyond Government Support

Women, Children, and Poverty Alleviation Minister, Lynda Tabuya, has stated that it is not solely the government’s responsibility to provide financial support for social welfare recipients.

Tabuya said, “It is not the sole responsibility of the government to financially sustain the welfare of our social welfare recipients.”

She pointed out that this responsibility primarily lies with the family, while the government’s role is to provide supplementary support.

The Minister praised Pacific Polytech for offering vocational training to individuals on social welfare and to women.

Tabuya also highlighted that an allocation of $4.34 million towards the Department of Women will focus on programs supporting women’s economic empowerment and gender-responsive budgeting.
