Hundreds of members of the Then India Sanmarga Ikya (TISI) Sangam are gathering in Ba this weekend for their annual convention, where they will officially launch a book project celebrating the organization’s 100-year history. During the event’s opening on Friday, TISI president Praveen Kumar announced the significance of the history book, which aims to honor the centennial of TISI Sangam next year.

Kumar expressed excitement about the project, stating, “The centennial history book project has already recorded various documents and sources, and we look forward to your contributions over the coming months.” He highlighted the importance of researching the founding era of TISI Sangam and the challenges faced by Sadhu Kuppuswamy that shaped his vision for the organization.

Mr. Kumar acknowledged the contributions of delegates from overseas, emphasizing their presence as a strength that reinforces community bonds. He also praised the High Commission of India for its support of the organization’s Centennial Language Revival Initiative, underscoring TISI Sangam’s commitment to educational and welfare efforts that transcend discrimination.

This year’s convention hopes to stimulate participation from every district as members collectively contribute to documenting their rich heritage. As TISI Sangam approaches its landmark anniversary next year, the initiative embodies a hopeful outlook for preserving cultural identity and strengthening community ties.

The past engagements of TISI Sangam have shown a focus on cultural preservation and the promotion of the Hindi language, similar to recent initiatives led by figures within the organization who have made significant contributions toward cultural literature. This ongoing commitment to heritage suggests a future where TISI Sangam can continue to play a vital role in both local and broader communities.
