Timoci Duve has been officially appointed as the head coach of the Kaiviti Silktails for the upcoming New South Wales Rugby League 2025 Jersey Flegg Cup season. Duve has been serving in a caretaker role for the Silktails since June, following the departure of former coach and Fiji Bati star Wes Naiqama, who stepped down after a successful four-year tenure.

Joining Duve in the coaching staff is Rusiate Ratukana, returning as the assistant coach after previously serving as the strength and conditioning coach and captain of the Fiji Residents rugby Sevens team at the South Pacific Games. They will also benefit from the expertise of Joe Saukuru, who will act as a technical advisor. Saukuru’s role will be crucial as he serves as the coaching liaison between the Silktails and their new feeder club, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

This new coaching structure signifies a fresh start for the Silktails as they aim to build on their past successes. The combination of Duve’s leadership and Ratukana’s experience promises to bring a renewed energy to the team, paving the way for exciting developments in the Jersey Flegg Cup season.
