Tilak High School from Lautoka won the 2024 Digicel Fiji Secondary Schools Inter District Championship in Nadi yesterday, defeating Labasa Sangam College 1-0 in a thrilling final that went into extra time. Harsh Naidu scored the decisive goal for Tilak from the penalty spot and also received the Golden Boot award for scoring eight goals during the tournament. Tilak’s goalkeeper, Frank Dansey, earned the Golden Glove recognition for achieving three clean sheets.
In the semifinals, Tilak dominated Vashist Muni College from Navua, winning 4-0, with Lautoka striker Sekove Luma contributing two goals and assisting in the others. Labasa Sangam College managed to advance by overcoming the defending champions Labasa College through a dramatic penalty shootout, winning 5-4.
In other results, Labasa College secured the U15 title by defeating Tavua College 4-1 in penalties, while Xavier College clinched the U17 championship by beating SKKMC 4-1. Additionally, Ba Sanatan triumphed over Xavier College with a 1-0 victory to take home the Girls Open Grade title.
