Tilak High School from Lautoka secured the 2024 Digicel Fiji Secondary Schools Inter District Championship title in Nadi yesterday, triumphing over Labasa Sangam College with a score of 1-0 after extra time in an intense final. Harsh Naidu scored the decisive goal for Tilak from the penalty spot.
Naidu also earned the Golden Boot award for scoring eight goals throughout the tournament. Additionally, Tilak’s goalkeeper, Frank Dansey, received the Golden Glove award for achieving three clean sheets.
In the semifinals, Tilak dominated Vashist Muni College from Navua, winning 4-0, with Lautoka striker Sekove Luma contributing two goals and assisting on others. Labasa Sangam College advanced to the finals by defeating the defending champions, Labasa College, 5-4 in a penalty shootout.
In other tournament results, Labasa College captured the U15 title with a 4-1 victory over Tavua College in penalties, Xavier College secured the U17 title with a 4-1 win against SKKMC, and Ba Sanatan narrowly defeated Xavier College 1-0 to take home the Girls Open Grade championship.
